Happy almost spring everyone! The birds have been chirping and reminding us of all the new things to come. I too have some new hopes and desires. After one more wedding as a second shooter in San Francisco this May with one of my best friends, I have decided to dissolve my photography business completely and start on a different path that will fit into my life as it is now. I have missed working outside of my home with less of the constant pressures of owning my own business and just being around people on a regular basis. It’s lonely working by yourself regularly, especially when you are a people person like me. It was a difficult decision indeed and one I truly didn’t discuss with friends or extended family. It was one I needed to make completely on my own (and with my immediate family of course). I will always love being a photographer and I will miss the joy I got when I photographed families that became friends during their happiest times. I have made the most amazing friends in this industry: people who are like family and from all over the country and the world as well as friends that I have had some of the most exciting adventures with and still will of course. Corny as it may sound, it has truly been life changing for me in every way and I wouldn’t change a thing. I have grown so much as a person and as a photographer. The clients I have had are some of the kindest, most loving humans out there and I love that I get their holiday cards and see their Facebook and Instagram posts with all their life accomplishments like having babies and buying homes; it brings me so much happiness! However, after almost 15 years of photographing professionally, it is time to take photos for personal enjoyment. My heart has grown bigger than I ever could have imagined. Thank you to all that have trusted in me to photograph the most important moments in their lives. It was truly an honor. Thank you to all my mentors who encouraged me when I was unsure of myself and who helped me become the woman I am today.
I will be reaching out to past clients to update them this week and will still be available for questions or any final print orders etc… I will be giving any inquiries I receive from now on to the other talented local photographers out here on the North Fork. It takes a village you know 🙂
Now onto new adventures!
Lots of love,
